Bio
Spectators are asked to sign a health and safety waiver when Ethan Seamer plays, and the backhand responsible needs no further introduction. An inaugural champion alongside Jonathan Kierce — surviving that epic three-set Season 1 grand final — Seamer sits second on the all-time winners list and owns a nine-match win streak, top-five in league history. He is also the league's great volume hitter: the winners come in double figures, and occasionally the unforced errors do too, a "power based approach" the stats team has learned to describe diplomatically. A rare survivor of three different eras, he's partnered Kierce, Lewis Mossman and now Shayl Inlander across four seasons, reaching finals in all of them, including back-to-back quarter-final campaigns with Light Blue. Ten career Best-on-Ground awards say the ceiling remains as high as anyone's. When the backhand is firing, there is still no more frightening sight in Tuesday night tennis.
