Recap

The one that started it all. On a November night in 2022, nine captains drafted nine partners — Will Mumme famously "sleeting" Lewis Mossman with the first pick — and TNT was born, complete with weather-defiant scheduling from GM Feikema and an opening-round Simpson Supremacy clash that Jimmy Gorton missed with "Bitchitis." The inaugural regular season had everything: Will Burgess lost to patellar tendonitis and replaced mid-season by new signing Shayl Inlander, a "please explain" issued over Green's scoring inaccuracies, a satirical drug ban for Mossman, and records that still stand — Emerson Wise's 13-winner masterpiece and Joel Trudgeon's 22-error catastrophe. Kierce and Seamer took the minor premiership, then survived the finals' great scandal: Orange's controversial fill-in quarter-final win over Pink that birthed #justiceforpink. The grand final delivered an all-timer — White's Kierce and Seamer over Red's Simpson and Hume, 4-6 7-6(4) 6-1, for the $500 prize. WHAT. A. GAME. Charlie Simpson claimed the Finals MVP, and the season MVP couldn't be split: Archie Littlejohn, Luke Sharrock and Jonathan Kierce, joint winners on 12 votes apiece. At the awards night, Trudgeon was brutally delisted with zero votes and the Least Committed award. A league was born; so were its legends.

How votes work: Season 1 used 2 (best) / 1 (second) per match plus a Player-of-the-Round bonus. From Season 2 onward, two voters each award 3-2-1 per match — a maximum of 6 per match. Career totals and the all-time boards count Season 1 era-adjusted onto that scale — a 2 counts as 6, a 1 as 4 — so a best-on-court night weighs the same in every era; season pages and the S1 MVP tally show the votes as cast. Finals are voted separately, 4-3-2-1, for the Finals MVP; those votes never count toward the season MVP.

Fill-in nights are excluded — those votes were earned for another team.
