Recap
No season has ever had a longer prelude. Before a ball was struck in 2024, TNT absorbed Archie Littlejohn's 6:13am ACL retirement statement, Charlie Simpson's contract standoff with the executive, Ed Simpson's knee "footballing tragedy," and the anonymous TNT Times Phantom Draft Form Guide — the most savage document in league history, which ranked debutant Lachlan Jenkin number one and roasted everyone else from muffin consumption to body hair. The season lived up to it. Jackson Virgona arrived as "the most handsome pairing" with Declan Croucher, Kierce and Damon Maurice's Lob City claimed the minor premiership (including a TNT-first error-free, double-fault-free match from Kierce), Navy started 4-0, and the circle of parity was ceremonially completed. Then came the greatest finals series yet: Black saving three match points against Navy in a tiebreak quarter-final immediately nominated as the best match of all time, and an Orange–Red semi suspended by council lighting regulations with six match points already saved — resumed a night later with Jamie Harris serving to stay alive. The decider was pure theatre: White over Orange 6-0 0-6 6-4, one of the strangest scorelines ever recorded, delivering Kierce and Maurice the title. Kierce swept the lot — MVP, Finals MVP with 11 of 12 votes, and a second championship. A clean sweep, in a season nobody could have scripted.

How votes work: Season 1 used 2 (best) / 1 (second) per match plus a Player-of-the-Round bonus. From Season 2 onward, two voters each award 3-2-1 per match — a maximum of 6 per match. Career totals and the all-time boards count Season 1 era-adjusted onto that scale — a 2 counts as 6, a 1 as 4 — so a best-on-court night weighs the same in every era; season pages and the S1 MVP tally show the votes as cast. Finals are voted separately, 4-3-2-1, for the Finals MVP; those votes never count toward the season MVP.
Fill-in nights are excluded — those votes were earned for another team.
